Rumor: Samsung Plans to Launch Its Own Crypto Wallet With the Galaxy S10
The wallet app will reportedly include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and ERC-20 tokens.
Samsung, the world’s leading producer of semiconductors and smartphones, is reportedly developing its own cryptocurrency wallet.
According to an exclusive report by SamMobile, the “Samsung Bitcoin App” would offer cold storage for digital assets and private keys, in addition to full transaction functionality.
While the report has yet to be confirmed, SamMobile notes that the wallet may include Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC-20 tokens and Bitcoin Cash. Additionally, Samsung wallet users would be able to import their existing wallets from third-party services like MetaMask or TrustWallet.
Samsung is no stranger to crypto and blockchain, as previous reports revealed that the company plans to start utilizing blockchain technology to streamline supply chain logistics of its electronics business, potentially cutting shipping costs by around 20%.
SamMobile claims to have uncovered the development plans for the new wallet after trademarks reveal Samsung’s cryptocurrency plans for its Galaxy devices, including applications for Blockchain KeyStore, Blockchain key box, and Blockchain Core.
