Samir Panchal

We all love being in the sun, whether it’s on a weekend getaway, walking to work, or just sitting by the window with a cup of tea. But let’s be honest: that wonderful sun can leave behind an undesirable souvenir: a stubborn tan!

When your skin makes more melanin to protect itself from UV rays, it tans. It protects your body naturally, but it can make your skin look darker, duller, or uneven. The good news is? You don’t need to spend a lot of money on pricey lotions or salon treatments. You already have everything you need in your kitchen to get your natural shine back.

I’ve tried most of these cures personally, and I can tell you that they are easy, safe, and actually do work if you stick with them. Let’s get going.

1. Tomato juice to make things brighter quickly

A little tomato may do wonders for skin that feels weary and spotty. Take some tomato pulp or fresh juice, put it on your face, and let it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Tomatoes are high in vitamin C, which helps erase tans, lighten dark spots, and make your skin seem instantly better.

*My tip: Keep some tomato juice in the fridge. It feels great on hot days!

2. Aloe Vera, Honey, and Turmeric for a Healthy Glow

This mix is great for your skin. mix to use a teaspoon of turmeric, two tablespoons of honey, and some aloe vera gel. Put it on thoroughly and wash it off after 10 to 15 minutes. It heals sunburn, brightens the complexion, and gives you that soft shine you get after a facial.

3. Grandma’s Favorite Trick: Besan and Milk Pack

This traditional cure still works for a reason! Add 2–3 tablespoons of gram flour (besan) to milk or curd, a few drops of rosewater, and a pinch of turmeric. Put it on, wait 15 to 20 minutes for it to dry, and then wash it off. It gently gets rid of dead skin and tan, leaving your face smooth and glowing.

Believe me, that grandmother was right!

4. Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth) for a Deep Clean

This is beneficial if your skin seems oily or thick after spending a lot of time outside. You can mix Multani Mitti with milk, yogurt, or water. Add a little turmeric and a few drops of lemon juice. Put it on your face and neck, let it dry, and then wash it off with warm water. It gets rid of tan, clears up pores, and makes your skin look clean and matte.

5. A mix of honey and milk powder

Mix two equal amounts of milk powder, honey, and lemon juice if your skin seems dull. Put the paste on for about 30 minutes, then wash it off. This one is amazing for making your skin look brighter and keeping it nice and moist.

6. Potato juice can help with sunburn.

Yes, potatoes! They work exceptionally well on skin that has been in the sun. Slice a potato, take out the juice, and add a few drops of lemon juice. Put it on the tanned areas for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash it off. It makes the skin cooler and slowly fades tan lines.

Others Real Tips from Experience

And remember, never forget to wear sunscreen. It’s the easiest method to keep from getting a tan!

My Weekend Routine

Every Sunday night, I take some time for myself with a Multani Mitti pack, a cup of green tea, and some calming music. It’s how I get ready for the week ahead. If you can, try to make it a habit. Your skin will be grateful!

It doesn’t have to be hard or expensive to take care of your skin. You might have the best remedies right in your kitchen, but you have to know how to use them. Be gentle to your skin, be consistent, and allow your natural glow shine through.
